Diese finnische Band besteht aus ehemaligen Mitgliedern von Soulgrind, Gloomy Grim, Twilight Ophera, usw., hat aber mit keiner der vormaligen Bands irgendetwas gemeinsam.
Ebenso führen der Bandname und das Artwork in die Irre. Odin statt Ukko? Tatsächlich weder noch. Walhalla spielen straight forward Thrash Metal. Nicht mehr und nicht weniger. Hin und wieder hört man dazwischen das eine oder andere an Black Metal angelehnte Riff, doch Release The Beast ist durch und durch ein Old School Thrash Metal-Album.
Fazit: Mit zwei Songausnahmen hört es sich wie aus einem Guss an, woran man konstruktive Kritik anknüpfen könnte – aber andrerseits: warum? Es soll ja ein durchgehendes Old School-Brett sein, und damit tut es was es soll: laut sein und unbequem.
